Levels 1 and 2: Basic addition and subtraction using the physical abacus
Levels 3 and 4: Beginning mental arithmetic; students visualize the abacus in their minds
Levels 5 and 6: Introduction to multiplication and division
Levels 7 and 8: Advanced arithmetic, including decimals, square roots, and large numbers
