As a resident of Asansol and a travel lover I often try to discover unique places around me. Let’s check out-
1. Maithon Dam- A must visit place, located 8Km from Asansol town. This place is best for weekend trip. Try to visit Bathanbari, sidhabari. Also visit Kalyaneswari mandir and take blessings. Avoid cold season weekend to avoid rush.
2. Panthet- Panchet dam also a great place to visit for tourists. Do picnics, enjoy Boating, and more.
3. Gar Panchokot- located beside Panchet dam, Gar Panchokot hill was famous for its natural beauty.
Tip- There is a 15-20 min Trek from main temple on the main hill leading to an old dilapidated temple. But, the Trek is worth it. You feel like a winner once you complete it and reach here. The view is also very good.
4. Barhanti- Baranti is a small tribal village in the santuri village in Purulia district. It is situated beside Baranti Lake. This is a growing but quiet tourist spot. Try to book a resort in baranti, reach a morning- enjoy the whole day beside baranti lake- enjoy the majestic sunset then barbecue on resort at night.
5. Biharinath Hill- A small riverside village tucked in near a Shiva temple with serene and natural beauty
Good birding place for birders as some spectacular species are found here. Get your gears and start exploring and believe me you won’t repent.
6. Neheru park- Located becide Damodar river, this is an Excellent place for picnics and family vacation.you can spend good time with family and friends. There are some good place for selfie.
7. Bhutabari Temple- Nice and peaceful place. It’s an open roof temple under the tree near the Bank of Damodar River. Bhuta Buri Mandir or Temple ( ভূতা বুড়ি মন্দির ) Nice cool noiseless place. On the Bank of Damodar River. Near to Shyamdihi (শ্যামডিহি) village. Local people pronounce it like “Samdi” village. Near Hirapur Dharmatala, Burnpur.
8. Blue Factory Mines- Tucked away in the heart of Asansol lies a breathtaking natural wonder—Blue Factory Lake. True to its name, the water here has a stunning bluish hue, creating a surreal and peaceful atmosphere.
