To prevent the spread of chickenpox, keep the sick person away from others until all their blisters have dried and scabbed over (usually 5 to 7 days). Wash your hands frequently and maintain good hygiene. Getting vaccinated against chickenpox is the best way to protect against the disease. Also, make sure infected people stay away from newborns and anyone with a weakened immune system, as they are at higher risk.
